Back contact technology from TNO
The design of the module is based on the “back contact” connection, an industrially proven concept developed in the Netherlands by ECN (now part of TNO).
Back contact modules provide higher power output due to low inter-cell loss factor and excellent resistance to thermomechanical stress. In addition, they offer inherent heat dissipation capability, allowing them to “operate at a lower temperature” than conventional wired modules. The form factor is more flexible than conventional modules, making it easy to integrate back contact modules. They also make it possible to obtain highly aesthetic designs.
ZEBRA Technology by ISC Konstanz
The photovoltaic cells in the module, which ensure its high efficiency, are based on the “ZEBRA” IBC (Interdigitated Back Contact) technology, developed by ISC Konstanz. This is the cheapest IBC technology that achieves an efficiency of over 24% in production. The current technology allows to obtain voltages even above 700mV, without the need to passivate the connectors.
High aesthetics with powerful performance
The IconIQ photovoltaic panel combines two high-quality technologies and offers many advantages, such as lead-free, solder-free connectors and significantly increased durability. The panel is not only lead free, but also fluorine and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) free, unlike popular photovoltaic panels.
Low temperature coefficient (-0.3%/°C) adds 3% power, even under average operating conditions. In addition, the inverter turns on earlier in the morning and turns off later in the evening thanks to improved low-light performance.
